De firma Verduijn is opgericht door de familie van Verduijn in Breskens
in 1928
In 1928 a Dutch
family Verduijn started their company “Gebroeders Verduijn Suikerwerken B.V.”.
This family produced mostly winegums and sour candy. Because of their success,
a bigger factory became necessary and the production of the still popular Dutch
candy “Black-White ball” started in 1980.
In 1986 “Van Melle” took over “Gebroeders
Verduijn Suikerwerken B.V.”. Verduijn became an independent company inside “Van
Melle”. The factory in Breskens became an important production-location to
produce the Private Labels and the own Verduijn brand.
In 1999 “Van Melle”
took over also the factories of Klene in Hoorn and Zaandijk. At the time Klene
had a lot of Private Labels besides their own Klene brand, which were passed on
to the commercial team of Verduijn.
In 2001 Van Melle was sold to the Italian Perfetti and the new company name
became Perfetti Van Melle. In the same year got Verduijn also the
responsibilities of the dextrose products (Peco).
In October 2003 was
the celebration of the 75 years anniversary of Verduijn. Because of a
large-scale reorganization inside of Perfetti Van Melle became the factories
Hoorn and Zaandijk one factory in Hoorn. Also was decided to sell the factory
in Breskens and so discontinue the production of the hard boiled candy.
Since 2004 the
factories belongs to the responsibility of the Perfetti Van Melle group.
Verduijn has established oneself as the specialist at Marketing and Business
for the Private Label market with her own mission en vision.
